There's a free German one out there. I suggest u to format it in exFAT and that how i resolved the problem. Or format it directly on the switch and u will be sure that it'll work. SD XC = exFAT SD HC = FAT 32. I know that FAT32 is more reliable, but i don't know other solutions. Dude only with Fortnite.

After research I chose to switch to xci and install via awoo. Big mistake. Switched to tinfoil and stuck with xci, but chose usb option as it's similar enough to goldleaf/ns-usbloader that I feel comfortable using it and understanding it. Same result as before. The only file created in the Documents\BF2042\settings folder is PROFSAVE. None of the other files were created. This is the case for both computers.
