This is right and results in a significant difference IMHO. In terms of cleaning, the Franchi Affinity is much simpler and requires fewer tools than the Benelli semi-autos (judging by the videos Benelli puts out - I only have first hand experience with the Franchi Affinity). Share. Like.

It is a design flaw that benelli refuses to address. A bunch of us had them - were missing birds like crazy and ended up dumping them after reading about this. The franchi is the 3 inch less fancy version of the benelli. Benelli sbe2 will shoot 3.5 inch ao if you want to shoot those go with the benelli. I'm personally a super black eagle fan boy so if you have the money I'd recommend that. But in all honesty they're both great guns that run on the same inertia operating system.
