I don't prefer knock off Lego, but I'm also pragmatic: there are sets that just can't be bought for reasonable money on the second hand market. Lego is still superior quality and certainly has higher quality printing with much more consistency. But the gap in quality isn't enough to justify the price a lot of the time.
