12. Apr 27, 2023. #1. I speak for a growing number of 2019 and up 5th Gen RAM 1500 owners. We are having serious electrical issues with the "PARK SENSE & SERVICE SHIFTER" systems. The Park Sense shuts off without warning, then turns back on along with a SERVICE SHIFTER message (and check engine light) appearing on the Dashboard Message Screen.
2014 Ram 1500 Tradesman. Drove it several times today without issue. Went to start it again and it will not turn over at all. I see the "service shifter" message in the HUD. All dash lights come on, but no lights on the shifter module and the truck will NOT start. Battery has a normal charge. A week ago I got service shifter message for 2 seconds and then it went away. I've got a 2013 charger v6 8spd auto trans electro shifter with push start button. I've recently got the Service transmission shut engine off to engage park message in EVIC. I've found the only way to shut engine off is to hold down push start button in which acc mode is selected and still can't park, and cannot switch ignition switch to off mode.
