Yes, if you mean a 'crunching' sound then that apparently is normal. And is part of the stability control. Here is an earlier thread with video by Debath, one of our Queensland members. If you watch the video, towards the end around the 5 min mark, he is on the beach and the vehicle is making that noise. (Is that the sound yours is making??)

A little bit more effort (dismantle door card etc.) but helps a lot. Also has a nice side effect of making your car doors sound more premium when closing. It'll add ~10-20kg to your car weight depending how much you add. Speaker baffles help a little bit too as road noise through the door panel goes straight through the speaker cone.
