Hi, I decided to try out the selling puts (csp) strategy. I sold a put but noticed that I didn't receive the premium and it wasn't reflected in my buying power or portfolio value. My only thoughts are because I'm using a cash account instead of a margin account the premium won't reflect in the buying power on the same day, or I f*cked up lol. For these, I like the monthly expirations. Exit targets are +10% / - 20%. The idea is that a small pullback leads to IV expansion, so delta and vega both help you. T double calendars (ATM and one strike below), for amusement and small potential gain. Monthly expirations, targets +50% and ride (they're super cheap).

The most effective way is to close your position, take the loss and redeploy your remaining capital/margin on a better position. Perhaps on a different ticker. Or let it get exercised. Rolling is a fantasy invented to help psychologically deal with a loss.
