Chevy malibu shift to park fix.
I recently started having the shift to park problem on my 2018 Malibu LT (10,000 miles). It occurs randomly about once every 10 to 15 drive cycles. If I take it to the dealer for repair (under warranty) chances are they won’t be able to reproduce the problem themselves. So, will they take me for my word that my car has this problem?

Test two, tried to move the shifter out of park without pushing the button. Result, nope, you have to both push the brake and depress the button just like you had to do before.Finally fix the problems with my shifter. What I have found works to get around it are 2 things -- 1) Keep your foot on the brake until after you shut the engine off. Also, pressing the brake while you jiggle the shifter can help too. Or 2) exercise the shifter from park to low and back 3 or 4 times. These are work arounds.
