You don't have to use 16 hours though, just enough to cover the shift if you have it available. When PPTO first rolled out the answer was no.
PPTO covers you if its a regular day, if it's a key date, if the world blows up, ANYTHING. You can't even put in 16 hours if you tried. When I was still w Walmart we were all told key event dates counted as 2 days and therefore needed 16 hours of ppto. It even said somewhere on the site for calloffs.
Just can't use it until the day of your shift. Also, if you only have enough to cover half your shift on a Key Date, you only get a half point. Not a full point like some managers will tell you. Only PPTO covers points, not regular PTO (even combined with PPTO). You will get a half point because pto us not for sick time and dies not protect you from points. You can, however, use them together if you want to get paid for your whole shift, but you will still get the .5 point. Ok thx!

The 9 minute grace period doesn’t apply when it comes to PPTO so you need to take that into consideration. So for example, if you’re scheduled to leave at 4PM and you want to leave at 2PM, then you’ll need to clock out at 2PM or later.
