I would probably go with a reflection build. The high survivability combined with damage output and maya's ability to slag everything with abandon seems well suited to solo play. Tho it does publicly need an answer for melee enemies...

Sweet Release is always useful. I much prefer it over Mind's Eye. The crit bonus of Mind's Eye is nice, sometimes I get it too, but melee becomes useless in UVHM as Maya. I have multiple Maya saves, and alternate frequently between builds. I use a Scorn build most, but go SS for speed runs. SS downsides are pretty badly overblown, most likely because people frequently pair it with a Legendary Binder. The extra Suspension boost makes it more painful when the orb gets weird. I prefer to use it with L Siren or L Cat.
