I have Bartlein barrels on some of my other rifles, but I've never used a Shilen.With my tested lot of Center-X,RimX/Shilen is comparable to Vudoo/Ace at 50 yards. I've shot a few groups at 100 which showed promise (multiple 5-shot groups with 3 rounds in 1/2" followed by 1-2 fliers 3/4" or more away), but 1029fps is too slow to shoot PRS matches with targets at 400 yards.A pre-fit barrel has to have the smallest threads allowed in the tolerance to make sure that it fits the smallest action in the tolerance. This makes for a loose fit in an action that has threads on the large side. Shilen makes great quality barrels, but not because the rifling style. The performance comes from good quality blanks with sharp tooling, good quality control, so on, so on.
