1) To the location of the shower glass on the wall - no reason not to go farther in my mind. 2) To the edge of the tile - this means the edge trim will have to go overtop of the Kerdi, and there will be a very small gap between the wall and the trim which could be filled with caulk.
Thank you. It can be installed either way although when I do my bathroom I will be going over the flange as I think that provides the best protection. You can notch the back of the kerdi so it doesn't bow out at the flange.
