She's stayed at Majestic Mirage before with her husband and liked the multiple swim up bar options. I have only stayed at the Elegance - just got back from our 3rd visit, and have heard good things about the Colonial as well! Though both resorts have an AO section, the Colonial leans more towards families as compared to the Majestic. I assume you are looking at the Colonial Club section. Cause it would also have a private beach area for Club members. Have been to the Majestic Elegance and Bavaro Princess. Both are great resorts but we are returning to the Majestic for trip #5 this winter. BP is a large resort - need a tram to get to the front lobby area most of the time.

I’m looking for a high end resort but one that is lively. Has anyone got some advice on whether “Elegance” or “Colonial” are the better resort. I would be booking the “Club” category. I believe the Majestic Colonial would be more upscale than the Iberostar Dominicana. The Iberostar Bavaro would probably be more of an equivalent to the MC - love the IB -going back in two weeks and would certainly be a good choice but have heard good things about the MC as well.
