The 30 does shoot softer than the 27 and also affords you the benefit of a full grip. The 36 isn't bad either. It has slightly more felt recoil than the 30 due to lighter slide and thinner grip. The grip, front to back, is shorter on the SF and Gen4 models than on the regular G30. Glock should just make the SF models the standard now. There really isn't any point in having the current standard frame anymore. Two very good pistols IMO. My G30 has been the most accurate Glock I've owned, but it is a brick. The Shield 45 is equally accurate and has been perfect through nearly 2k rounds. Both are fun to shoot and handle recoil well (the Shield surprisingly well for its size). There is an obvious capacity difference in favor of the G30.

The overall thickness of the Glick 30 is 1.38 inches and the Glock 36 has 1.18 inches thickness. The slide is 1.12 inches thick on the Glock 30 and 1.0 inches on the Glock 36. So, there’s a little yet obvious difference between their overall size and thickness. This slight difference makes the Glock 36 better to hold and concealed carry.
I am going to buy a Glock 30 or 30s in the coming weeks. From reading on the various gun forums it looks like more people like/love the 30s instead of the 30. I know the slide is slightly more narrow on the 30s compared to the 30 but the width of both guns is exactly the same according to the Glock specs and the other dimensions are the same.
