At my petco they have the majority of plants in separate tanks. Ive bought a few (2-3) from petco but have never really had an issue with them. Topfin has packaged plants (mine have been doing fine in my tank (about 2 months now)), you could try them out if they sell them at your petco/petsmart since they aren't in tanks. Those plants are great.
