The Tikka synthetic stock is one of the better designs. It is no more or less cheapish than any other rifle Both are good, it depends on which traits are more important to you I wouldn't pick a Remington over either the Ruger or Tikka at 1/2 the price. Another option to consider is the Ruger American which is available for lefty's.
