Larger charges and a longer barrel means more room to burn powder down length of barrel. They can also be more accurate than shorter.
As far as i Can tell the main differences are. 1) optima has 26" stainless barrel Vs wolf 24" blued. 2)thumbhole stock, i have never shot a thumbhole stock gun and am not sure if i will like it. 3)price the optima is about $90 more than the wolf however only $50 after i purchase the durasight -dead on sight that i think that i like.Jan 21, 2016 · 0. I bought a CVA Optima many years ago. I love it. I hear the Accura is great but have never shot one. I highly recommend Blackhorn 209 powder. Non corrosive, I can shoot many rounds between a full cleaning with no issues. I shoot 100-105 grains with a 240grain Barnes T-EZ over it and it's a great shooter.
Although it is not an Optima, I have a cva mtn rifle. Same set up, 90 grs blackhorn with 250gr bullet and that black harvester crushed rib sabot produces almost 5 holes touching at 100 yards. I do wish the stock was a 1/2" shorter on this gun and it seems to kick a little harder than the Impact. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.
