I have a 2018 as well and I notice the exact same thing with the autostop it rolls back as you release the brake like a manual. Dangerous when people like the be on your tail as you said. I put my car in “L” mode and either shift and downshift or just leave at gear 6 if it’s the 6 speed or gear 9 if it’s the 9 speed.
