I was not happy to learn i couldn't mount existing racks on the crossbars when they are over the bed, and I was using my hitch rack. I'll be on the pad from now on LOL. It fits as well as I could expect for something not made specifically for this truck. Straps cinch down well and the whole pad feels solid. The tailgate opens and closes like normal with the spring loaded gap cover thing rolling right over the tailgate pad.
