Every time I go to SXM we de- plane via stairs and walk to the terminal, or take a bus from the tarmac to arrivals depending on where the plane parked.

Yes, I have rented from SXM Beach Rentals (St. Martin Beach Rentals), most recently this past January/February.I am booked through them again for January and February 2024. Jill (the local on-island agent) and Gordon (the unit propety manager) are terrific, easy to work with, and accommodating.

Re: SXM airport to marigot ferry terminal. I might do it a little differently than what you have planned. I would use St Louis Rental Car in lieu of Budget. Just Google them up and you can call or e-mail a reservation. SXM is in the Dutch side of St Maarten and as far as I can remember the ATMs distribute USD and NAFs, apart from one between the arrivals and departure areas which also give the options to get Euros.
