After consulting with many folks who work on Duramaxes that seems to be the only common issue with broken cranks is the possibility that the balancer has gone bad. Hopefully will pull it and see what exactly went when I get the truck back. well i know of three Lbz's with broken cranks now, all breaking in the same vicinity. '92 K3500 Dually 6.5 fuel plus 20% JD TO4 turbo 3'' down & 3.5'' ex 5 speed. 07' Duramax Dually Quadzilla Programmer at 70HPfor now. 87' 6.2 K10 banks hairdryer plus 50% fuel (Dailly driver)After two years without the Mistress I have started building a new power plant for her. Starting with a new LML block beefed up with SoCal billet caps and a girdle from the Dmax Store. The main journals of the new block will hold a Calies DuraStar crankshaft and Carrillo rods. The valves will be actuated by a Competition Cams stg2 LST bump stick.

To spin 6+k rpm reliably in those it should e balanced to less than 1 gram. Also told the diesel cranks are way worse than the gasoline motors when it comes to being balanced... Mack: 2004 lb7.

You would still have oil pressure. If you have a scanner pull up the cam and crank sensor/signal and see if you’re getting a reading.
