2010 CRV whining noise. My 2010 CRV makes a whining noise when accelerating. The noise disappears when the RPM's decrease as it shifts into last gear. It is there when you start the engine and gets louder if you rev the engine. The Honda dealer said it was the bearings in the water pump and replaced it ($$$) but the noise is still there.

If serp belt is old and cracked it's probable that timing belt hasnt been replaced (if you have 6cyl, 4cyls have a chain.). Also check oil level.
