Ive seen it blink as a security alarm indicator. Anyway, I brought it into Honda and they think it was a glitch. Hopefully that’s what happened.

We just picked up our new 2013 CR-V LX today. Still wading thru all the electronics, indicators, etc. There is a rectangular red flashing light in the top lip of the CD slot when we turn the ignition off. I can't find it in the owner's manual.The manual on the 2012 says that a blinking D light means the transmission has a problem and needs to be serviced. Also, look for any other lights on the dash. Most shops will do basic diagnostics free of charge. They would be able to plug a scan tool into it and find out.
